Contribution of Rice Tillers to Dry Matter Accumulation and Yield

Agronomy Journal, 1998
AbstractA rice (Oryza sativa L.) crop functions as a population of tillers produced at different times and possessing specific growth characteristics. The objective of this study was to characterize the contribution of cultivar tillering ability to dry matter accumulation, yield components, and grain yield.

Seasonal dry matter yield in three forage species

Agro Productividad
Objective: To assess the seasonal dry matter yield of three forage species white clover (Trifolium repens L.), sheepgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.), and perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) under the specific edaphoclimatic conditions of southeastern Coahuila, Mexico.

Efficiency of Indirect Selection for Dry Matter Yield Based on Fresh Matter Yield in Perennial Ryegrass Sward Plots

Crop Science, 2008
Forage dry matter yield (DMY) is a high‐priority trait in breeding perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.). However, determining dry matter concentration is highly labor intensive. For a similar level of resources, indirect selection based on fresh matter yield (FMY) would allow a greater number of replicates, genotypes, or both to be evaluated.

The Effects of Ozone on the Growth, Yield, and Partitioning of Dry Matter in Cotton

Journal of Environmental Quality, 1979
AbstractCotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) Alcala SJ‐2 was grown in an activated carbon‐filtered greenhouse and exposed to biweekly 6‐hour ozone fumigations at a concentration of 490 µg m−3. Two ozone treatments were used, differing in age at initial exposure and total ozone dose.

A comparison of the dry matter yields of perennial legumes in the Dohne Sourveld

Journal of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa, 1988
Fifteen perennial legumes were compared, under dryland conditions on two sites, in the Dohne Sourveld. These sites were Dohne, which has a mild, but dry winter and an average of 743 mm of rainfall per year, and Grasslands, which is a colder site with an average rainfall of 866 mm per year.

Dry Matter Yield and Nutritional Characteristics of Elephant-Grass Genotypes

Journal of Experimental Agriculture International, 2019
In the elephant-grass germplasm, there are genotypes that show a large genetic variability differentiated by morphological, reproductive, agronomic and biochemical characteristics. As such, there is a selection of new and more adapted elephant-grass genotypes, with greater productivity and nutritional quality, which can cause an increase in the forage ...
