Dry processing of oats – Application of dry milling

open access: yesJournal of Food Engineering, 2007
A dry milling strategy has been developed for separating oats into bran-rich and starch-rich fractions. For the first time, this process combined the benefits of oat pearling with the efficiency of break and reduction milling and sifting to allow production of flour and bran fractions from an oat cultivar of high lipid content.

Freeze-drying of nanocapsules: Impact of annealing on the drying process

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2006
Freeze-drying process was recently applied to improve the long-term storage stability of nanocapsules. Thermal treatment by annealing is an interesting process to optimize a freeze-drying cycle of these colloidal vectors. The objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of annealing on primary and secondary drying characteristics and on ...

Observations on the Drying of Paper: Five Drying Methods and the Drying Process

Journal of the American Institute for Conservation, 1992
AbstractThree experiments were performed to examine the drying of paper. In the first experiment visual analysis was used to monitor change caused by five drying methods on the surface texture of 12 historic papers. Although all methods caused changes, the early restraint method was most successful, while the traditional method was least successful, at

Exergy Analysis of Drying Processes and Systems

2007
Exergy analysis can help reduce irreversibilities and increase the efficiency for drying processes. Increased efficiency reduces the energy required by drying systems for the production, transportation, transformation, and distribution of various energy forms.

DRYING PROCESS

2004
The present invention relates to a method of drying biological and other labile samples so that they can be preserved as a highly viscous liquid. The method involves the steps of preparing a preservation sample by dissolving/suspending an active agent in a solution of a stabilising agent, subjecting the preservation sample to such temperature and ...

Silylation and dry procession

Advanced Materials for Optics and Electronics, 1994
AbstractThe issues of dry development and self‐developing resists are addressed in this paper by way of an introduction to the main topic of surface imaging, in which diffusion‐enhanced vapour plhase silylation chemistries and their mechanisms are developed with specific reference to resists that function through the DESIRE process.

Processing and Drying of Coffee

2019
In the postharvest processing of coffee, drying is the most critical factor not only for preserving quality but also for energy consumption and processing costs. Phenological characteristics of the coffee plant and their interaction with the growing environment have direct implications on fruit maturity, and therefore on diverse aspects related to ...
