Abstract This chapter looks at the difficulties associated with dry skin, with particular focus on eczema and the symptoms and treatment of this condition. Skin relies on moisture in order to act as a barrier, and eczema can therefore lead to both aggravating symptoms of itch, redness, and soreness, as well as subsequent infection.
