Nitrogen Source and Dose Effects on Spinach Yield and Total Nitrogen Content Across Storage Periods

open access: yesISPEC Journal of Agricultural Sciences
Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) cultivation is gaining prominence due to increasing interest in health and wellness. Nitrogen (N) is crucial for spinach growth, and traditional fertilization practices are being reconsidered for their environmental impact.

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Nitrogen phytoremediation by water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The phytoremediation potential of water hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms, was examined in two independent studies under nitrogen (N) rates of 0, 40, 80, 100, 150, 200, and 300 ppm.

Effect of pre-drying storage and drying method on the quality of dried kelp

open access: yesFood Research International
Farmed kelp (Alaria esculenta and Saccharina latissima) can be the future North Atlantic Ocean crop, in coastal areas of Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Norway. One of the main bottlenecks in upscaling kelp production is stabilising the annual harvest before it spoils.

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Licensing of spent fuel dry storage and consolidated rod storage: A Review of Issues and Experiences [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The results of this study, performed by Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNL) and sponsored by the US Department of Energy (DOE), respond to the nuclear industry's recommendation that a report be prepared that collects and describes the licensing ...

ATZ‐1 promotes DNA replication efficiency to maintain normal meiotic function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Absence of ATZ‐1 interferes with meiotic DNA replication and cell cycle function via CHK‐1. This causes downstream defects associated with DNA damage and genomic integrity. Taken together, this study suggests that ATZ‐1 influences DNA replication efficiency and cell cycle function to maintain normal meiotic function.

Spent HIFAR fuel elements behaviour under extended dry storage. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Previously unpublished observations of the behaviour of HIFAR spent fuel under extended dry storage conditions are reported. The two fuel elements EC802 (Mark III type) were irradiated in 1966 first examined in hot cells in 1967 and again examined in ...
