Relationship between Net CO2 Assimilation and Dry Weight Accumulation in Field-Grown Tobacco [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1982
To assess the variability of net photosynthetic CO(2) exchange per unit leaf area and to construct budgets for stands of field-grown tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum, Connecticut Broadleaf), a number of short-time measurements were made on all available leaf positions on two varieties using a hand-held transparent chamber for conducting gas exchange ...

Seasonal Patterns of Nutrient and Dry Weight Accumulation in Freeman Maple [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1999
Seasonal patterns of N, P, and K accumulation and remobilization in Freeman maple (Acer× freemanii E. Murr. `Jeffersred') were studied to guide future improvements in fertilization efficiency. Leaves, stems, and roots of container-grown trees were harvested over a 12-month period (June to June) in each of two experiments.

The Influence of Summer Pruning on Photosynthesis, Transpiration, Leaf Abscission, and Dry Weight Accumulation of Young Apple Trees1

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 1981
Abstract Young, container-grown ‘Topred Delicious’/Malling (M) 9 apple trees ( Malus domestica Borkh.) trained to a single shoot out-of-doors were summer pruned to remove 0, 25, 50 or 75% of 78 cm shoots.

Grain Yield, Dry Weight and Phosphorus Accumulation and Translocation in Two Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Varieties as Affected by Salt-Alkali and Phosphorus [PDF]

open access: yesSustainability, 2017
Salt-alkali is the main threat to global crop production. The functioning of phosphorus (P) in alleviating damage to crops from saline-alkaline stress may be dependent on the variety of crop but there is little published research on the topic. This pot experiment was conducted to study if P has any effect on rice (Oryza sativa L.) yield, dry matter and

Changes in dry weight accumulation in the Impatiens walleriana pot plant in response to different pre-transplant plug cell volume

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Horticultural Science, 2013
Summary The use of transplants is the most reliable method to ensure adequate crop establishment of commercial plantings of most ornamental bedding crops; however, in plants grown in small pots, root growth restrictions often occur.

RATE OF ACCUMULATION OF DRY WEIGHT IN SEED OF SOYBEANS AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO YIELD

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Plant Science, 1975
The dry weight accumulation rate in soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) seed was measured for 2 yr (1971–72), utilizing four cultivars and several planting dates within each year. Rates observed ranged from 3.38 to 8.32 mg/seed/day. There were significant differences among cultivars and planting dates.

Statistical Models for Prediction of Dry Weight and Nitrogen Accumulation Based on Visible and Near-Infrared Hyper-Spectral Reflectance of Rice Canopies

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2000
Much information is obtainable from hyper-spectral data, which measure solar radiation consecutively at less than about 10-nm intervals. In constructing statistical prediction models, however, problems of overfitting may arise due to the excessive number of variables, and multicollinearity may occur between variables ; thus a few specific wavelengths ...

Introduction of morpho-physiological and biochemical markers to select salt-tolerant wheat (Triticum aestivum) genotypes under salinity stress. [PDF]

open access: yesDesert, 2023
As a strategic crop, wheat is important to the world’s food supply. Salinity is a major threat to the food supply in the whole world and Iran. The research was carried out for identifying morpho-physiological and biochemical markers to select salt ...
