Effects of Drying-Wetting Cycles on Soil-Water Characteristic Curve
Alternate drying-wetting cycle is considered to be one of the important factors that can affect the hydro-mechanical properties of soil. Due to the variability of climatic condition, soils are experienced by multiple drying-wetting cycles. But most of the previous studies on soil physical and mechanical properties are limited to a single drying-wetting

Characteristics of Wetting-Induced Bacteriophage Blooms in Biological Soil Crust. [PDF]
Biological soil crusts (biocrusts) are photosynthetic "hot spots" in deserts and cover ∼12% of the Earth's terrestrial surface, and yet they face an uncertain future given expected shifts in rainfall events.

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

The influence of changes in water content on the electrical resistivity of a natural unsaturated loess [PDF]
Non-destructive methods of measuring water content in soils have been extensively developed in the last decades, especially in soil science. Among these methods, the measurements based on the electrical resistivity are simple and reliable thanks to the ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Effect of Wetting and Drying Cycles on Swell/Collapse Behavior and Cracks of Fine – Grained Soils
Many of the soils undergo volumetric changes due to the change in the water content. Swell-shrink and collapse behavior of those soils affects the stress state in soil and the interacted structures.
