Effect of Dry–Wet Cycling on Methanotrophs in Wetland Soils
Wetlands occupy a mere 6% of Earth’s land surface, yet they contribute 25–45% of global natural methane (CH4) emissions. A key contradiction emerges here: it is the soil of these wetlands that serves as the host for methane-trophic microorganisms, which can oxidize the vast majority of the methane they produce under specific conditions (for example ...

Study on the effect of dry-wet cycle on the dam slope stability [PDF]
During the dry-wet cycle, the soil cracks and matrix suction change a lot, at this same time, the overall slope stability should be paid attention to. Therefore, in this paper, physical model tests in two different scales were conducted to study the crack development of the dam slope and the change of the matrix suction, and then the stability of the ...

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...
