Drying shrinkage of expansive cements
Journal of Materials Science, 1988Drying shrinkage behaviour of expansive cement pastes were studied and compared with those of portland cements. Results indicate that the shrinkage behaviour of these two cements is significantly different from each other. Generally, expansive cements shrink more than portland cements, and especially more so if they have not been adequately cured, i.e.

Volumetric shrinkage of individual particles is affected mainly by air velocity; other drying variables have negligible effect.

Drying Technology, 1999ABSTRACT Strawberries were pretreated with ethyl oleate and sodium hydroxide solution to make the skin transparent to moisture diffusion. The treated berries were dried with convective air at 45°C and microwaves at two power levels of 0.1 and 0.2 W/g. During the drying process change in shrinkage ratio with respect to moisture ratio was studied.
