Drying Time

1972
Probably no test on coatings has given as much trouble as drying time, unless it is hardness. One reason is the subjective nature of the tests. Another is the unawareness of the influence of environment and of the mechanical details of instrumental aids.

Drying Time

2012
THE PROCESS OF DRYING INVOLVES SEVERAL physical and/or chemical changes, such as solvent evaporation, oxidation, and polymerization, all of which are time dependent. The various stages of drying that occur in organic films may be subjective, difficult to measure reproducibly, and are influenced by many factors such as film thickness, substrate ...

Time to standardise dry cow therapy terminology

Veterinary Record, 2017
FOR 45 years, infusing a long-acting antimicrobial preparation into each teat of a dairy cow at the end of lactation has been one of the most important tools in the National Institute for Research in Dairying/Central Veterinary Laboratory (NIRD/CVL) five-point management strategy to minimise intramammary infections. The strategy has been widely adopted

Elapsed time for crack formation during drying

The European Physical Journal E, 2014
The drying of colloidal films usually leads to mechanical instabilities that affect the uniformity of the final deposit. The resulting patterns are the signature of the mechanical stress, and reveal the way the system consolidates. We report experimental results on the crack patterns induced by the drying of sessile drops of concentrated dispersions ...

Infrared drying lowers energy costs and drying times

Plastics, Additives and Compounding, 2007
Plastics drying processes are costly and have high energy requirements. Depending on the material, drying times of several hours are not unusual, requiring a corresponding large stock of material in the drying hoppers. As a rule, in conventional systems, the energy input is indirectly affected by warm or dry air. However, Mr M.

Predicting drying times for thin materials

Chemical Engineering Science, 1971
Abstract Theory of drying has been analyzed from the basis of capillary flow in solids. When handling thin materials or small particles the resistance to flow of water in the capillaries contributes very little to the resistance to drying. In these cases drying curves are calculated from heat and mass transfer correlations.

Potential study to reduce total drying time via hybrid drying process

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2019
The aim of this study is to study the potential of hybrid drying on the reduction of total drying time of Murraya Koenigii. Three drying methods, namely convective hot-air drying at 40, 50 and 60°C, single-stage hybrid microwave vacuum drying at 240, 360 and 480 W and two-stage hybrid convective pre-drying at 50°C followed by microwave vacuum finishing-

[Drying time for human saliva].

Archiv fur Kriminologie, 2015
In a case of aggravated extortion under threat of force, the medicolegal expert was asked to give an opinion on the drying time of human saliva. Fresh traces of saliva were applied to composite stones similar to those at the scene of the crime and their drying behavior was examined in a climate test chamber.

Experimental relaxation times, drying—moisturizing cycles and the relaxation drying equation

Chemical Engineering Science, 1989
Abstract For a second drying period in which mass transfer has a wave nature the so-called relaxation drying equation (RDE) is derived. As for its classical counterpart the equation describes the time changes in the space-averaged free moisture content in solids.
