Doubly-Special Relativity: Facts, Myths and Some Key Open Issues [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
I report, emphasizing some key open issues and some aspects that are particularly relevant for phenomenology, on the status of the development of "doubly-special" relativistic ("DSR") theories with both an observer-independent high-velocity scale and an ...

Advanced Mounting Technique for Improved Imaging and Analysis of Embedded Spheroids and Migrating Cells in Light Sheet Fluorescence Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A novel sample holder compatible with the Zeiss Lightsheet 7 microscope improves imaging of spheroids embedded in collagen matrices. By enabling dual‐sided illumination, it enhances image quality and quantitative analysis of migrating cells. This method advances 3D light sheet microscopy for studying tumor invasion and therapeutic responses.

Rheological Analysis of The Aging Behavior of Short-Term Aged Pure And SBS-Modified Asphalt Binders

open access: yesFirat University Journal of Experimental and Computational Engineering
Flexible pavements consist of a bituminous binder and certain graded aggregate. The performance of the bitumen determines the overall pavement performance.

Relativistic Thermodynamics with an Invariant Energy Scale

open access: yes, 2009
A particular framework for Quantum Gravity is the Doubly Special Relativity (DSR) formalism that introduces a new observer independent scale, the Planck energy.

Temporal Modeling of Amyloid and Tau Trajectories in Alzheimer's Disease Using PET and Plasma Biomarkers

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to compare positron emission tomography (PET) and plasma‐based temporal modeling of amyloid and tau biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease. Methods Longitudinal amyloid PET (n = 1,097, mean age ± SD = 72.5 ± 7.38 year, 51.4% male), 18F‐flortaucipir tau‐PET (n = 230, 74.3 ± 7.18 year, 52.2% female), and Fujirebio Lumipulse plasma p‐

Trends in the utilization, expenditure and costs of noninsulin glucose‐lowering drugs in the Medicaid population: Steady increases in glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonist and sodium–glucose transporter‐2 inhibitor use, prices and expenditure

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims This study aimed to analyse changes in the utilization, expenditure and average cost of noninsulin glucose‐lowering drugs (GLDs) between 2008 and 2023. Methods This was a retrospective observational study of 2008–2023 data from the National Medicaid State Drug Utilization database.

Window Regression: A Spatial-Temporal Analysis to Estimate Pixels Classified as Low-Quality in MODIS NDVI Time Series

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2014
MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data are largely used in multitemporal analysis of various Earth-related phenomena, such as vegetation phenology, land use/land cover change, deforestation monitoring, and time series analysis.

2+1 gravity and Doubly Special Relativity

open access: yes, 2003
It is shown that gravity in 2+1 dimensions coupled to point particles provides a nontrivial example of Doubly Special Relativity (DSR). This result is obtained by interpretation of previous results in the field and by exhibiting an explicit ...

Do Eco‐Emotions and Climate Change Perceptions Influence Environmentally Conscious Decisions? Implications for Business Strategies

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite growing research on explicating travelers' decision‐making processes regarding greener travel options, there remains potential for exploring nuances of different factors and mechanisms that may encourage higher green travel. Grounded in the propositions of the push–pull–mooring framework, our study attempts to explicate whether eco ...
