A Performance Evaluation of HMM and DTW for Gesture Recognition [PDF]
It is unclear whether Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) or Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) techniques are more appropriate for gesture recognition. In this paper, we compare both methods using different criteria, with the objective of determining the one with better performance. For this purpose we have created a set of recorded gestures.

ABSTRACT This paper reviews how large‐scale mobility data can enhance economic analyses, highlighting its contributions to understanding travel behavior, labor markets, social interactions, and health outcomes. We discuss its advantages over traditional mobility data sources, which include real‐time location information and fine spatial resolution ...

A deep learning‐enabled toolkit for the 3D segmentation of ventricular cardiomyocytes
Abstract figure legend 3D cardiomyocyte segmentation enables comprehensive analyses of myocardial microstructure in health and disease; however, it is technically demanding. We present an open‐source toolkit for this task, which reduces challenges associated with sample preparation, image restoration, segmentation and proofreading.

Evaluating the Prediction of Wind Power Ramping Events in the Belgian Offshore Zone
This work proposes a flexible verification framework to assess wind power ramp forecasts more comprehensively than standard metrics. Applied to the Belgian Offshore Zone, it demonstrates the effectiveness of Wind‐Farm‐Parameterization and machine learning models and indicates a strong link between severe precipitation and predictable ramp events ...

Abstract Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) provide continuous measurements of zenith wet delay (ZWD), reflecting column‐integrated atmospheric water vapor. While the slowly varying ZWD is routinely assimilated in numerical weather prediction, the rapid fluctuations on timescales of seconds to minutes that arise from boundary‐layer turbulence ...

2D Copper MOF Membranes with Precise Pores for Ionic Memory
. ABSTRACT Biological ion channels play a critical role in the complex physiological processes of living organisms. Inspired by these natural systems, we demonstrate the fabrication of ultrathin 2D copper‐based metal‐organic framework (CuMOF) films and their application to mimic key functionalities of biological membranes. Using a liquid–air interface
