Model Predictive Control for a Dual-Active Bridge Inverter With a Floating Bridge [PDF]
This paper presents a Model Predictive Control technique applied to a dual active bridge inverter where one of the bridges is floating. The proposed floating bridge topology eliminates the need for isolation transformer in a dual inverter system and therefore reduces the size, weight and losses in the system.

The Comparison of Different Modulation Methods for Dual-Active-Bridge
2022 14th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI), 2022© 2022 IEEE.The dual-active-bridge (DAB) dc-dc converter has been increasingly used in recent years. Different modulation strategies for DAB have been reported in the literature as Single Phase Shift (SPS), Extended Phase Shift (EPS), Double Phase Shift (DPS), Triple Phase Shift (TPS).

On the Analysis of Quasi-Discontinuous Modulations for Dual-Active-Bridge
IECON 2021 – 47th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2021The dual-active-bridge is a DC/DC converter that is widely used due to its design flexibility. Diverse modulations have been used to extend the soft-switching range, reducing the RMS current or improve the overall performance. In this paper, the analysis of different quasi-discontinuous conduction modulations for the DAB converter is made. The analysis

Complete ZVS Analysis in Dual Active Bridge
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2021Zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) has been widely applied in widebandgap devices based on high-switching-frequency converters, for instance, dual-active-bridge isolated dc–dc converter, which consists of two H-bridges. To secure ZVS for all eight switches, previous literature mostly focuses on half-bridge to analyze switching transitions, which, however, is

Parasitic Resistance Effect on Dual Active Bridge Converter
IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019In this paper, the effect of the parasitic resistance on the operation of the dual active bridge (DAB) converter is investigated. Analytical equations of the input-output voltage characteristic for the single phase shift (SPS) and the triangular current (TC) modulation techniques, that consider the parasitic resistance on the secondary side, are ...

Modeling and Minimization of Switching Loss in Dual Active Bridge Converters
IECON 2021 – 47th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2021This paper presents a closed-form formulation to model the switching loss in single-phase dual active bridge converters (DAB). The proposed model is general and covers all modulation techniques with one, two, or three control parameters. Moreover, in this paper, the switching loss is minimized in a DAB converter controlled by the extended phase shift ...

Optimal Design of a Dual-Active-Bridge DC–DC Converter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2021This article presents a systematic design procedure for a dual-active-bridge (DAB) dc–dc converter. Design of a DAB converter involves determination of two key parameters, i.e., transformer turns ratio and the series inductance value. Existing literature addresses this problem through numerical optimization, which is computation intensive and does not ...

Equivalent circuit model of dual active bridge converter
IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2017This paper presents a full-order equivalent circuit model of Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter. The proposed equivalent circuit facilitates the in-depth knowledge on the physical insight of DAB converter and can precisely retain both the steady state and dynamic behavior of the original system. This equivalent circuit can be divided into two parts: ac

Mitigation of Current Ringing Effects in a Dual Active Bridge Converter
2023 IEEE 32nd International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2023The mitigation of the ringing effects on a dual active bridge (DAB) converter by implementing a planar transformer has been investigated. Specifically, the consequences associated with the stray capacitances of planar transformers have been analysed and modelled, referring to a specific case study. The analysis of input and output impedances shows that

A review of bidirectional dual active bridge converter
2012 9th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2012To have a systematic synthesis and galvanic isolation, it is common to use a full-bridge bidirectional DC-DC converter which is sometimes called dual active bridge. A comparative evaluation of full-bridge based bidirectional DC-DC converter is presented in this paper.
