The Arecibo Dual-Beam Survey: The HI Mass Function of Galaxies
We use the HI-selected galaxy sample from the Arecibo Dual-Beam Survey (Rosenberg & Schneider 2000) to determine the shape of the HI mass function of galaxies in the local universe using both the step-wise maximum likelihood and the 1/V_tot methods.

Redshifts and Velocity Dispersions of Galaxy Clusters in the Horologium-Reticulum Supercluster [PDF]
We present 118 new optical redshifts for galaxies in 12 clusters in the Horologium-Reticulum supercluster (HRS) of galaxies. For 76 galaxies, the data were obtained with the Dual Beam Spectrograph on the 2.3m telescope of the Australian National ...

Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

A novel scene-recording spectroradiometer
In this paper we describe an innovative approach to providing both a synthesised dual-beam capability and a permanent photographic record of the precise area sensed by a spectroradiometer.

This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Recent Developments of Reflectarray Antennas in Dual-Reflector Configurations
Recent work on dual-reflector antennas involving reflectarrays is reviewed in this paper. Both dual-reflector antenna with a reflectarray subreflector and dual-reflectarrays antennas with flat or parabolic main reflectarray are considered.

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Dynamics of dual-orbit rotations of nanoparticles induced by spin–orbit coupling
Spin–orbit coupling (SOC) in tightly focused optical fields offers a powerful mechanism for manipulating the complex motion of particles. However, to date, such a mechanism has only been applied to the single-orbit motion for particles, while multi ...
