Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Hyper–Dual Numbers: A Theoretical Foundation for Exact Second Derivatives

open access: yesMathematics
Second-order derivative information, including mixed curvature, is central to Newton and trust-region optimization, uncertainty quantification, and simulation-based design.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

On a New Generalization of Pell Hybrid Numbers

open access: yesAnnales Mathematicae Silesianae
In this paper, we define and study a new one-parameter generalization of the Pell hybrid numbers. Based on the definition of r-Pell numbers, we define the r-Pell hybrid numbers.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Solving the sign problems of the massless lattice Schwinger model with a dual formulation

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
We derive an exact representation of the massless Schwinger model on the lattice in terms of dual variables which are configurations of loops, dimers and plaquette occupation numbers. When expressed with the dual variables the partition sum has only real

Investigating the Short-Circuit Problem Using the Planarity Index of Complex q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Planar Graphs

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
Planar graphs play an effective role in many practical applications where the crossing of edges becomes problematic. This paper aims to investigate the complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy (CQROF) planar graphs (CQROFPGs). In a CQROFPG, the nodes and edges are

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Erlangen Program at Large-1: Geometry of Invariants

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2010
This paper presents geometrical foundation for a systematic treatment of three main (elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic) types of analytic function theories based on the representation theory of SL_2(R) group. We describe here geometries of corresponding

On tertions and dual numbers [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
In a previous author's paper [1], the mathematical object called "tertion" was discussed. Some operations over tertions were introduced and their properties were studied. There, it was showed that the complex numbers and quaternions can be represented by
