Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Flexible dual-diversity wearable wireless node integrated on a dual-polarised textile patch antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A new textile wearable wireless node, for operation in the 2.45 GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band, is proposed. It consists of a dual-polarised textile patch antenna with integrated microcontroller, sensor, memory and transceiver with ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Generation and Thermal Properties of a Dual-Transverse-Mode With Dual-Polarization and Dual-Frequency by a Dual-Medium Microchip Laser

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
A dual-polarization, dual-frequency and dual-transvers-mode laser beam is generated by a dual-medium microchip laser. The dual-transvers-mode includes a linearly polarized LG01 mode and a perpendicular polarized TEM00 mode, which have different optical ...

A Dual-Polarized Reconfigurable Reflectarray Antenna Based on a Symmetrically Rotated Sub-Array

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
This paper proposes a novel method for designing a dual-polarized reconfigurable reflectarray antenna (RRA) based on a symmetrically rotated sub-array operating in a single-band.

The eleven antenna: a compact low-profile decade bandwidth dual polarized feed for reflector antennas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A novel dual polarized ultrawide-band (UWB) feed with a decade bandwidth is presented for use in both single and dual reflector antennas. The feed has nearly constant beam width and 11 dBi directivity over at least a decade bandwidth.

Exceptional Extended Dual Polar Spaces

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 1997
It is considered an extended dual polar space (EDPS). An EDPS \({\mathcal G}\) is called affine if there is a flag-transitive automorphism group \(G\) and a normal subgroup \(T\) in \(G\) such that \(T\) acts regularly on the set of elements of type 1 in \({\mathcal G}\). Theorem. Let \({\mathcal G}\) be an EDPS whose rank is greater than or equal to 3

Multiple path length dual polarization interferometry

open access: yesOptics Express, 2009
An optical sensor for quantitative analysis of ultrathin films and adsorbed layers is described. Quantification of both layer thickness and refractive index (density) can be made for in situ and ex-situ coated films. With the use of two polarizations, in situ measurements are made via one path length in a young's interferometer arrangement while ex ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
