Effects of Single- and Dual-Task Practice on Acquiring Dual-Task Skill
Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 1995In two experiments we examined the effects of single- and dual-task training on the acquisition and transfer of dual-task skill. Subjects performed two consistently mapped (CM) visual search tasks (word-category search and spatial-pattern search).

Additional effects of a cognitive task on dual-task training to reduce dual-task interference
Psychology of Sport and Exercise, 2020Abstract Objective When we perform dual-tasks in daily life, task performance is generally reduced. As these reductions in performance (i.e., dual-task interference) are responsible for various accidents such as falls, the repeated practice of dual-task (i.e., dual-task training) is often implemented to reduce dual-task interference.

Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Human-Agent Interaction, 2021
Previous literature has reported that users consider hands-free and eyes-free interaction as one of the prime features of IPAs (Intelligent Personal Assistants). Hands-free and eyes-free interaction enables dual tasking. Although users prefer dual tasking with IPAs, it is unknown to what degree current IPAs are compatible with dual tasking.

Task Shifting in Dual-Task Settings
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 2002When a participant is asked to perform two tasks in alternation, their mean reaction times were slower than when they performed the same tasks repeatedly. This “shift cost” has been hypothesized to reflect the time course of a single central executive that exerts control over thought and actions in task shifting.

Dual-task performance assessment robot
2017 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2017In this paper, dual-task performance assessment robot (DAR) using projection is developed. Falling is a common problem in the growing elderly population. Fall-risk assessment systems have proven to be helpful in community-based fall prevention programs. One of the risk factors of falling is the deterioration of a person's dual-task performance.

Preparatory brain activity in dual-tasking
Neuropsychologia, 2018Task preparation in dual-tasking is more complex than preparation for single tasks and involves additional factors such as task prioritization. Utilizing event-related potentials, we sought to disentangle preparatory processes involving preparation on the subtask level and the superordinate dual-task level.
