Dual reasons for dual citizenship
People and place, 1995With increasing globalisation the nation state is losing its significance. This is reflected in a growing tendency to permit dual citizenship, a trend which Australia should follow. We should think of citizenship as membership and participation in a community, rather than as an exclusive allegiance to a single nation. Copyright.

Inspired by the feedback scenario, which characterizes online social networks, we introduce a novel domination problem, which we call Dual Domination (DD). We assume that the nodes in the input network are partitioned into two categories: Positive nodes (V+) and negative nodes (V-).

Dual Source, Dual Energy, Dual Diagnosis

Linear functionals and the dual space of a vector space are defined and characterized. Every vector space is shown to be canonically embeddable in its second dual. Maximal subspaces are characterized as kernels of nontrivial linear functionals. The trace of a square matrix is studied in detail. Over a field of characteristic 0, a square matrix is shown

Let \(\gamma\) be a smooth closed strictly convex curve in the plane and \(x\) a point outside it. Draw the right tangent line (from the viewpoint of \(x\)) from \(x\) to \(\gamma\) and reflect \(x\) on this line to the point of tangency. This way we obtain a point \(Tx\) outside \(\gamma\).

The aim of the paper is the analysis of the integral representation of the elements of the dual of \(\text{SBV}({\mathbb R}^n)\), the space of special functions of bounded variation introduced by E. De Giorgi and L. Ambrosio in 1988. Using the natural decomposition of the derivative of any SBV function in absolutely continuous part and jump part, it is

Why did states once abhor dual nationality? Dual nationality was once considered a threat to morality and to the international order. As the American diplomat George Bancroft remarked in 1849, states should “as soon tolerate a man with two wives as a man with...
