Small‐scale thermal habitat variability may not determine seagrass resilience to climate change

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, EarlyView.
Abstract Seagrass ecosystems are integral components of coastal marine environments, but they face global threats from climate change. The ability of seagrass to withstand these challenges depends on trait variation among individuals, which is influenced by genetic background and plasticity.

Fish supply distinct nutrients and dissolved organic matter composition relative to ambient concentrations in northern lakes

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, EarlyView.
Abstract Nutrient cycling in aquatic ecosystems is often facilitated by consumers through excretion. While fish play established roles in nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) cycling, their impact on carbon (C) cycling remains underexplored. This role could be significant in ecosystems where dissolved organic matter (DOM) regulates light and nutrient ...

Ion Chemistry in Dielectric Barrier Discharge Ionization: Recent Advances in Direct Gas Phase Analyses

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dielectric barrier discharge ionization (DBDI) sources, employing low‐temperature plasma, have emerged as sensitive and efficient ionization tools with various atmospheric pressure ionization processes. In this review, we summarize a historical overview of the development of DBDI, highlighting key principles of gas‐phase ion chemistry and the ...

Comparative Analysis of Benchtop NMR and HPLC‐UV for Illicit Drug Mixtures

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, EarlyView.
This study assessed benchtop NMR with Quantum Mechanical Modelling (QMM) for quantifying methamphetamine in binary and ternary mixtures. QMM achieved a root mean square error (RMSE) as low as 1.3 mg/100 mg sample, enabling simultaneous quantification of drugs, adulterants, and impurities.

Unraveling the Link Between n‐Back Working Memory and Algebraic Ability in Adolescents: Correlations and Training Effects

open access: yesPsyCh Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Individuals with higher working memory capacities excel in mathematics performance. However, limited research has explored the impact of working memory on adolescents' algebraic ability and the transferability of training effects. Therefore, we conducted the current investigation with Chinese adolescents. In a correlational study (n = 218), we

Novel Anatomical Findings in Robot‐Assisted Prostatectomy and Optimal Dissection Layer Selection for Preserving Urethral Support Structures

open access: yesThe Prostate, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The role of preserving the superior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm in the context of urinary function remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the anatomical relationship between the superior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm and the external urethral sphincter in terms of preventing postoperative urinary incontinence.
