Capacity Analysis of a Land Mobile Satellite System Using Dual-Polarized Antennas for Diversity
2015 IEEE 82nd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2015-Fall), 2015In this paper, the ergodic capacity (EC) of a land mobile satellite (LMS) system using dual-polarized antennas for transmit diversity is analysed. Three key channel parameters, i.e. cross-polarization discrimination (XPD), transmit and receive correlation coefficients and Ricean K-factor are included in channel modeling and their effects on the EC are ...

Aerosol retrieval over land using the (A)ATSR dual-view algorithm
2009Aerosols play an important role in climate and air quality. They have a direct effect on climate by scattering and/or absorbing the incoming solar radiation [Haywood and Boucher, 2000]. Reflection of solar radiation increases the atmospheric albedo, causing a negative radiative effect and therefore cooling of the atmosphere.

The work presented here showed a comprehensive evaluation of dual-polarimetric RISAT-1 data for land use/land cover (LULC) classification. The textural images were extracted with the help of gray-level co-occurrence matrix approach. Analysis of inter-class separability using transformed divergence method was performed to recognize the potential ...

Use of the Topex–Poseidon dual-frequency radar altimeter over land surfaces
Remote Sensing of Environment, 2003The capability of NASA radar altimeter Topex for land surface studies at regional or global scale is investigated. The analyzed data, available since mid-1992 consist of dual-frequency backscattering coefficients values (Ku and C band) estimated at the nadir pointing angle along the satellite tracks between 66jS and 66jN and averaged in 0.75j ground ...

Self-modifying CA model using dual ensemble Kalman filter for simulating urban land-use changes
International Journal of Geographical Information Science, 2015There are many different methods to calibrate cellular automata CA models for better simulation results of urban land-use changes. However, few studies have been reported on combination of parameter update and error control using local data in CA calibration procedures.

Simulation of land surface fluxes using an improved dual-source model over row crops
IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003The classical Shuttleworth-Wallace two-layer model has a modification version proposed by Norman et al. (1995) and Kustas et al. (1999) to estimate evapotranspiration over row crop surfaces. However, the assumption of this modified model is controvertible, and more theoretical analysis and data validation seem necessary to figure out whether this model
