Dual-band transmission polarization conversion metasurface and its reconfigurable-phase design

open access: yesResults in Physics
Although abundant transmission polarization conversion metasurfaces (T-PCMs) have been reported, a dual-band T-PCM has only received little attention. Moreover, a reconfigurable-phase design of the T-PCMs is limited to a single-frequency band operation ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Synthesis of phase-locked counter-phase modulated pumps for SBS-suppressed fiber parametric amplifiers

open access: yes, 2010
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a new all-optical technique for the generation of two optical pumps with oppositely varying carrier phases for mitigating SBS in parametric amplifiers without phase-dither transfer from pumps to ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Unsteady-state permeation and surface exchange of dual-phase membranes

open access: yes, 2011
Unsteady-state permeation and surface exchange of dual-phase membranesUnsteady-state permeation in the initial stage was investigated on ceria-based dual-phase membranes by coating La(0.6)Sr(0.4)CoO(3-delta) (LSC) active porous layers onto the surface of

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Experimental investigation of wide bandwidth single and dual pump non-degenerate phase sensitive amplifiers

open access: yes
We demonstrate non-degenerate phase sensitive amplification of a DPSK data signal in both single and double pumped parametric configurations, achieving uniform phase sensitive gain and attenuation over the 20nm assessed ...

Phase-rotated MR spectroscopy using dual-PRESS: theory and application in human brain

open access: yes, 2007
Phase‐rotation spectroscopic acquisition is inherently different from the popular signal‐averaging method. Phase‐rotation will be described theoretically and experimentally in this article.
