Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Design of a Polarization-Diverse Planar Leaky-Wave Antenna for Broadside Radiation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The design of a K-band radial leaky-wave antenna is presented for polarization diversity applications. The antenna structure is constituted by an annular, radially periodic, and metallic strip grating printed on top of a single-layer grounded dielectric ...

Dual-Band Dual-Linear Polarization Reflectarray for mmWaves/5G Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A dual-band dual-linear polarization reflectarray configuration is developed for future 5G cellular applications. A single layer unit cell including two pairs of miniaturized fractal patches is designed to operate at two distinct frequencies within the ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Design and simulated characterization of the dual-band polarizer based on metasurface structure

open access: yesAIP Advances
Dual-band polarizers must simultaneously exhibit high transmittance and bandwidth efficiency in fields such as polarization navigation and efficient detection. However, in most studies, the detection of dual bands is inefficient.

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Rank-Dependent Measures of Bi-Polarization and Marginal Tax Reforms [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we investigate a dual class of bi-polarization indices, namely rank-dependent bi-polarization indices. We show that these indices may be characterized with the generalized positional transfer sensitivity property.

Exceptional Extended Dual Polar Spaces

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 1997
It is considered an extended dual polar space (EDPS). An EDPS \({\mathcal G}\) is called affine if there is a flag-transitive automorphism group \(G\) and a normal subgroup \(T\) in \(G\) such that \(T\) acts regularly on the set of elements of type 1 in \({\mathcal G}\). Theorem. Let \({\mathcal G}\) be an EDPS whose rank is greater than or equal to 3

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
