A Dual‐Bioresponsive and Programmable Microneedle Matrix as a Bioinspired Coupler for Orchestrating Diabetic Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This project developed a smart bandage‐like patch (a microneedle array) for repairing diabetic bone damage. It intelligently senses signals from infection and inflammation, then releases its medicines in a specific, timed sequence: first an antibacterial agent, then an anti‐inflammatory agent, and finally growth factors.

Dual boundary element method for anisotropic dynamic fracture mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this work, the dual boundary element method formulation is developed for effective modelling of dynamic crack problems. The static fundamental solutions are used and the domain integral, which comes from the inertial term, is transformed into boundary

Modal analysis of anisotropic plates using the boundary element method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)A numerical formulation for analysis of dynamic problems of thin anisotropic plates bending is presented. The bending behavior follows Kirchhoff's hypothesis.

Benchmarking Coaxial and Angular Optical Emission Spectroscopy With Recommendations for Reliable Compositional In Situ Monitoring During Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Real‐time insight into local chemistry is critical for reliable part quality in additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (PBF‑LB/M), where rapid thermal cycles and localized evaporation can undermine part performance. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) offers non‑intrusive, in situ plume monitoring, but detection geometry ...

Transient Non-linear Heat Conduction Solution by a Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method with an Effective Posteriori Error Estimator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method is formulated to solve non-linear heat conduction problems. The approach is based on using the Kirchhoff transform along with lagging of the effective non-linear thermal diffusivity.

Highly Anisotropic Quasi‐Direct Organic Metal Halide Hybrids: A Platform for Polarization‐Sensitive Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
One‐dimensional C4N2H14PbBr4 is shown to have a quasi‐direct electronic band structure and strongly anisotropic transport with polarized broadband emission. A GW/Bethe–Salpeter excited‐state force formalism, supported by polarized Raman and temperature‐dependent photoluminescence, identifies low–frequency Pb–Br phonons that drive ultrafast exciton self‐

Dual reciprocity boundary element method in Laplace domain applied to anisotropic dynamic crack problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper the dual reciprocity boundary element method in the Laplace domain for anisotropic dynamic fracture mechanic problems is presented. Crack problems are analyzed using the subregion technique. The dynamic stress intensity factors are computed

Tunable Extraordinary Optical Transmission in the Long‐Wavelength Infrared Range Using Electrostatic MEMS Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A MEMS‐integrated metamaterial filter enables continuous, low‐voltage spectral tuning in the long‐wavelength infrared (LWIR). The device employs extraordinary optical transmission in a dual suspended metasurface stack, where electrostatic actuation precisely controls the intermembrane air gap.
