Interest of the dual hybrid control scheme for teleoperation with time delays [PDF]
A new scheme of teleoperation called "dual hybrid control" is described. It is shown that telepresence is increased compared to traditional force feedback schemes.

This paper proposes a large-scale wireless powered communication network (WPCN), which consists of a hybrid access point (H-AP) and numerous nodes. The H-AP broadcasts energy to all nodes, and the nodes harvest the energy and then use the harvested ...

Similitude for the Dynamic Characteristics of Dual-Rotor System with Bolted Joints
The dual-rotor system has been widely used in aero-engines and has the characteristics of large axial size, the interaction between the high-pressure rotor and low-pressure rotor, and stiffness nonlinearity of bolted joints.

A dual-scale model for describing drier and porous medium interactions [PDF]
A dual-scale modeling approach is proposed to describe the coupling of the drier\ud (large-scale) and the porous medium (macroscale) throughout drying. This model is used\ud to investigate the vacuum drying of a softwood board placed in an experimental ...

Belief-Logic Conflict Resolution in Syllogistic Reasoning: Inspection-Time Evidence for a Parallel-Process Model [PDF]
An experiment is reported examining dual-process models of belief bias in syllogistic reasoning using a problem complexity manipulation and an inspection-time method to monitor processing latencies for premises and conclusions.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

In situ atomic-scale study on the ultralarge bending behaviors of TiO2-B/Anatase dual-Phase nanowires [PDF]
It is challenging but important to understand the mechanical properties of one-dimensional (1D) nanomaterials for their design and integration into nanodevices. Generally, brittle ceramic nanowires (NWs) cannot withstand a large bending strain.

Stable soliton dual-microcomb generation via sideband thermal compensation for spectroscopy
Microcombs—generated by coherently pumping nonlinear microresonators—have emerged as a state-of-the-art scheme at the chip scale. Dual-comb spectroscopy (DCS) technology further takes advantage of the miniature system, and has been demonstrated as a ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
