Observer-Based Control for the Two-Time-Scale Cyber-Physical Systems: The Dual-Scale DoS Attacks Case

IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, 2021
This paper concerns the observer-based control problem for a class of two-time-scale cyber-physical systems (TTSCPSs) under dual-scale denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. A TTSCPSs model is first proposed with slow and fast transmission channels, because that slow and fast dynamics are operating and communicating with slow and fast sampling rates ...

Scale effects, time-varying markups and cyclical behavior of primal and dual productivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper presents estimates of the degree of returns to scale using nonparametric measures of primal and dual productivity for 2-digit US manufacturing industries. As part of the analysis, the cyclical behaviour of primal and dual productivity measures are considered, time-varying markups are allowed for, and the small sample properties of the ...

Stability issues in dual time scale systems

Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2002
The paper presents some results on global exponential stability of linear time invariant systems with different time scales. Once fast and slow subsystems are derived, and controllers synthesized using Reaching Law Approach, global closed loop stability is derived for the whole system using Lyapunov methods.

Dual time scale measurements of the multiexponential fluorescence decay of quinacrine mustard

Optics Communications, 1981
Abstract The fluorescence decay of Quinacrine Mustard has been measured with good accuracy by means of a dual time scale digitizer-averager. Least-squares analysis of the experimental data with appropriate statistical weights has been performed. Values of the time constants for three componets have been obtained.

Forecasting network traffic at large time scale by using dual-related method

2016 12th International Conference on Natural Computation, Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (ICNC-FSKD), 2016
The accuracy of network traffic prediction has received significant interest in various domains, such as capacity planning, anomaly detection, admission control, and traffic engineering. For large-time scale traffic variation, it shows both a daily pattern and an hour pattern, which means the model based on single trend has not met the needs of ...

Dual-Time-Scale Ion Acceleration Dynamics in Hall Thrusters

Physical Review Letters
We report the first direct observation using a retarding potential analyzer of time-resolved ion energy distribution functions (IDFs) in a Hall thruster (HT) on two distinct time scales corresponding to the breathing mode (∼kHz) and the ion transit time oscillation (ITTO, ∼100  kHz).

Subnanosecond fluorescence waveforms measurements with a dual time-scale microprocessor-controlled averager

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1981
This paper presents a microprocessor-controlled apparatus for the measurement of fast fluorescence waveforms. This apparatus features a dual-time scale for the analysis of multiexponential decays. A sampling oscilloscope is used as the sampling device. The sampling time is externally controlled by means of a staircase reference voltage.
