KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Global aspects of electric-magnetic duality

open access: yes, 1995
We show that the partition function of free Maxwell theory on a generic Euclidean four-manifold transforms in a non-trivial way under electric-magnetic duality.

Duality formulas and variational integrals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A duality representation of a measure f ( z, µ) for a finite dimensional vector valued Radon measureµ is established ior a continuous function/= /(z,p) which is convex and of linear growth in p. Besides technical new aspects of the result the proof given

On strictly convex and strictly 2-convex 2-normed spaces II

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1992
In this paper a new duality mapping is defined, and it is our object to show that there is a similarity among these three types of characterizations of a strictly convex 2-normed space.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Pull-Back of Metric Currents and Homological Boundedness of BLD-Elliptic Spaces

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2019
Using the duality of metric currents and polylipschitz forms, we show that a BLD-mapping f : X → Y between oriented cohomology manifolds X and Y induces a pull-back operator f* : Mk,loc(Y) → Mk,loc(X) between the spaces of metric k-currents of locally ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. U-duality and Courant Algebroid in Exceptional Field Theory

open access: yes, 2022
In this paper, we study the field transformation under U-duality in exceptional field theories. Take $SL(5)$ and $SO(5,5)$ exceptional field theories as examples, we explicitly show that the U-duality transformation is governed by the differential ...

Strong Resilience of Topological Codes to Depolarization

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2012
The inevitable presence of decoherence effects in systems suitable for quantum computation necessitates effective error-correction schemes to protect information from noise.
