Duality theory and propagation rules for higher order nets

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 2011
The higher order nets and sequences are used in quasi-Monte Carlo rules for accurately evaluating high dimensional integrals of smooth functions. This paper introduces a duality theory for higher order nets whose construction is not necessarily based on linear algebra over finite fields.

Unfolding the high orders of asymptotic expansions with coalescing saddles: singularity theory, crossover and duality

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1993
Abstract We study the leading behaviour of the late coefficients (high orders r) of asymptotic expansions in a large parameter k, for contour integrals involving a cluster of coalescing saddles, and thereby establish the form of the divergence of the expansions.

Applications of Duality in the Theory of Finitely Generated Lattice-Ordered Abelian Groups

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1977
In a previous paper by the author [3], duality theorems for finitely generated vector lattices and lattice-ordered Abelian groups are described. In particular, the category of finitely generated semi-simple vector lattices is shown to be equivalent to a geometrical category V whose objects are topologically closed cones in Euclidean space, and whose ...

Duality under dependency inversion and noether theory for second-order lagrangians

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1986
Par dualité on comprend la correspondance entre deux processus de la mécanique continue où les variables dépendantes sont échangées par les variables indépendantes, c'est une généralisation de la théorie du champ classique [\textit{R. Duality Theory fornth Order Differential Operators under Stieltjes Boundary Conditions

SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 1975
The adjoint of an nth order vector-valued linear differential system with boundary conditions represented by singular matrix-valued measures is constructed when the system is viewed as an operator with domain and range in a space of $L^p $ integrable functions. Both the operator and its adjoint are shown to be normally solvable.
