A Note on Superconformal N=2 theories and Orientifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We construct the T duals of certain type IIA brane configurations with one compact dimension (elliptic models) which contain orientifold planes. These configurations realize four-dimensional $\NN=2$ finite field theories.

On the Complementarity of F-theory, Orientifolds, and Heterotic Strings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We study F-theory duals of six dimensional heterotic vacua in extreme regions of moduli space where the heterotic string is very strongly coupled. We demonstrate how to use orientifold limits of these F-theory duals to regain a perturbative string ...

Dual Instantons [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2000
We show how to map the Belavin-Polyakov instantons of the O(3)-nonlinear $ -$model to a dual theory where they then appear as nontopological solitons. They are stationary points of the Euclidean action in the dual theory, and moreover, the dual action and the O(3)-nonlinear $ -$model action agree on shell.

Holography, matrix factorizations and K-stability

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Placing D3-branes at conical Calabi-Yau threefold singularities produces many AdS5/CFT4 duals. Recent progress in differential geometry has produced a technique (called K-stability) to recognize which singularities admit conical Calabi-Yau metrics.

Duality Versus Supersymmetry and Compactification [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We study the interplay between T-duality, compactification and supersymmetry. We prove that when the original configuration has unbroken space-time supersymmetries, the dual configuration also does if a special condition is met: the Killing spinors of ...

“Dual awakening?”

open access: yesPoligrafi, 2022
The paper presents the concept of “dual awakening”, which is based on the Buddhist mindfulness appropriated by socially engaged Buddhism as a method to recognize and implement a “wholesome” paradigm on both the social and individual level. In the first half of the paper, I analyze the idea of “dual awakening” in the Southeast Asian context, especially ...

Twisted N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 SCFTs and their AdS3 duals

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study compactifications of an infinite family of four-dimensional N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 SCFTs on a Riemann surface in the presence of arbitrary background fluxes for global symmetries.

Non-Abelian Duality for Open Strings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We examine non-abelian duality transformations in the open string case. After gauging the isometries of the target space and developing the general formalism, we study in details the duals oftarget spaces with SO(N) isometries which, for the SO(2) case ...

Nonlocal Field Theories and their Gravity Duals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The gravity duals of nonlocal field theories in the large N limit exhibit a novel behavior near the boundary. To explore this, we present and study the duals of dipole theories - a particular class of nonlocal theories with fundamental dipole fields. The

Paranormed Motzkin sequence spaces

open access: yesDera Natung Government College Research Journal
In this article, it is obtained two new paranormed sequence spaces $c_0(\mathcal{M}, \mathfrak{p})$ and $c(\mathcal{M},\mathfrak{p})$ by the aid of the conservative Motzkin matrix operator $\mathcal{M}$ and is examined some topological properties of ...
