Dual-Processing Altruism [PDF]
Altruism refers to an other-benefiting behavior that is costly but bears no direct profit to oneself. At least three different forms can be distinguished: help giving, altruistic punishment, and moral courage. We investigated the differential impact of two thinking modes, intuitive (System 1) and rational (System 2), on these three altruistic behaviors.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

New N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 SuperBMS3 algebra and invariant dual theory for 3D supergravity
We have constructed a two dimensional theory dual to 3D asymptotically flat Supergravity in presence of two supercharges with(out) internal R-symmetry. The duals in both the cases are identified with chiral Wess-Zumino-Witten models.

Digital Hopf Spaces and Their Duals
In this article, we study the fundamental notions of digital Hopf and co-Hopf spaces based on pointed digital images. We show that a digital Hopf space, a digital associative Hopf space, a digital Hopf group, and a digital commutative Hopf space are ...

AdS Duals of Matrix Strings [PDF]
We review recent work on the holographic duals of type II and heterotic matrix string theories described by warped AdS_3 supergravities. In particular, we compute the spectra of Kaluza-Klein primaries for type I, II supergravities on warped AdS_3xS^7 and

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Gravity duals of boundary cones [PDF]
The replica trick defines Renyi entropies as partition functions on conically singular geometries. We discuss their gravity duals: regular bulk solutions to the Einstein equations inducing conically singular metrics at the boundary.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Dual multifractal spectra [PDF]
The multifractal formalism characterizes the scaling properties of a physical density rho as a function of the distance L. To each singularity alpha of the field is attributed a fractal dimension for its support f(alpha). An alternative representation has been proposed by Jensen considering the distribution of distances associated to a fixed mass ...
