Ultraviolet-B radiation can result in deleterious effects on many plant growth processes. In clonal plants, resources and hormones are often shared between connected ramets to deal with various environments. However, little is known about whether and how clonal integration influences the ability of clonal plants to respond to UV-B radiation.

The Indian mock strawberry [Duchesnea indica (Andrews) Focke] is an invasive plant in several regions of central Europe and Germany. In order to explore its competitive ability, we compared it with the native woodland strawberry (Fragaria vesca L.) by growing it alone as well as in intra- or inter-specific competition in a pot experiment under ...

Two new triterpenes from Duchesnea indica
Chinese Chemical Letters, 2009Abstract Two new triterpenes, 2α,3β-dihydroxy-urs-12-en-18,19-epoxy-28-oic acid (1) and 18,19-seco,2α,3α-dihydroxyl-19- oxo-urs-11,13(18)-dien-28-oic acid (2) were isolated from the herbaceous part of Duchesnea indica. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis, including 2D NMR technique.

This study was designed to uncover the antiviral compounds contained in Duchesneae Indicae. Two non-sulfated acidic heteropolysaccharides (DIP30 and DIP60) with anti-varicella-zoster virus (anti-VZV) activity were purified and investigated with a combination of DEAE C-52 ion-exchange chromatography, Sphacryl S-300 gel chromatography, high performance ...

The anti-inflammatory activity of Indian strawberry leaves is 0.31 percent DAI. For the treatment of inflammation, gel formulations are selected as effective penetration agents. The purpose of this work was to manufacture and test a pharmaceutically stable gel formulation of ethanol extract of Indian strawberry (Duchesnea indica (Jacks.) Focke] leaf ...
