A Multiplex TaqMan‐MGB qPCR Assay for Rapid and Accurate Identification of Four Waterfowl Parvoviruses (cGPV, MDPV, MDGPV, and SBDSV)

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Waterfowl parvoviruses (WPVs), including classical goose parvovirus (cGPV), Muscovy duck parvovirus (MDPV), Muscovy duck‐origin goose parvovirus (MDGPV), and short beak and dwarfism syndrome virus (SBDSV), are significant pathogens that affect waterfowl flocks worldwide. Due to their high genetic similarity and frequent coinfections, rapid and accurate

Isolation and Construction of an Infectious Clone for a Duck Adenovirus Type 3

open access: yes
A duck adenovirus type 3 strain SD2019 was isolated from sick Muscovy ducks in our laboratory in 2019. To study the biological properties of the virus, an infectious clone of the SD2019 strain was successfully established. The plasmid containing whole genome of DAdV-3 was digested with Pac I and the linearized DNAs were electortransfected into LMH ...

Fowl Adenovirus Serotype 4 SD0828 Infections Causes High Mortality Rate and Cytokine Levels in Specific Pathogen-Free Chickens Compared to Ducks

open access: yes, 2018
Hydropericardium syndrome and inclusion body hepatitis, together called hydropericardium-hepatitis syndrome, are acute infectious diseases found in chickens. These diseases are caused primarily by fowl adenovirus serotype 4 (FAdV-4) strains.

The Hemagglutinin of Influenza A Virus Induces Ferroptosis to Facilitate Viral Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 39, October 23, 2024.
The precise relationship between influenza A virus (IAV) and ferroptosis remains unclear. In this study, IAV hemagglutinin is shown to support viral replication by inducing ferroptosis via ferritinophagy. Hemagglutinin interacts with the autophagic receptors NCOA4 and TAX1BP1, leading to ferritinophagy.

Carbon‐Based Nanomaterials for Antiviral Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 34, Issue 38, September 18, 2024.
Carbon‐based nanomaterials (CBNs), including fullerenes, carbon dots, graphene, and their derivatives, show promise as antiviral tools in the antimicrobial resistance era. They exhibit broad‐spectrum antiviral activity with a low risk of resistance development. CBNs also enhance efficacy under light exposure and support antiviral immune responses. CBNs
