Pancreatic tumors imaging: an update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Currently, ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI) represent the mainstay in the evaluation of pancreatic solid and cystic tumors affecting pancreas in 80-85% and 10-15% of the cases respectively. Integration of US,

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Technical tips for endoscopic ultrasound-guided pancreatic duct access and drainage

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gastrointestinal Intervention, 2020
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided pancreatic duct access and drainage can be achieved by EUS-guided rendezvous (EUS-RV) or EUS-guided pancreatic duct drainage (EUS-PD) by transmural stent placement. Although the procedure is utilized for further complex

Cholecystohepatic duct fistula (Mirizzi syndrome) in a child

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, 2021
This child suffered three episodes of choledocholithiasis; but what makes her case so interesting is that the stones were passing through an anomalous communication from gallbladder to common hepatic duct.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

A Giant Asymptomatic Submandibular Salivary Gland Calculus Reported At Bahria University Dental Hospital.

open access: yesJournal of Bahria University Medical and Dental College, 2018
: Sialolithiasis is a common salivary gland disease which has highest predilection rate in submandibular followed by parotid and sublingual glands. It results in mechanical obstruction of the salivary gland duct.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Anatomical mapping of the biliary tree during laparoscopic cholecystectomy by using indocyanine green dye

open access: yesJournal of Minimal Access Surgery, 2022
Background: Fluorescent cholangiography using intravenous indocyanine green (ICG) is a noninvasive technique that enables real-time intraoperative imaging of biliary anatomy. The objective of this study was to visualise the biliary anatomy in routine and
