Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Using cell‐free RNA to identify B‐ and T‐cell clonality for diagnosis and monitoring of B‐ and T‐cell neoplasms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using peripheral blood for determining B‐cell or T‐cell clonality is more reliable when we use cell‐free RNA (cfRNA) because cells release blood significantly more RNA than DNA. Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) of cfRNA allows us to evaluate fragment cfRNA and evaluate clonality reliably without the need for prior determination of the specific dominant

What is the origin of pancreatic adenocarcinoma?

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2003
The concept of pancreatic cancer origin is controversial. Acinar, ductal or islet cells have been hypothesized as the cell of origin. The pros and cons of each of these hypotheses are discussed.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma Optimal patient Management

open access: yes, 2016
Patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, the most common type of pancreatic cancer, typically present late with advanced disease. The very nature of pancreatic surgery (with its associated complication profile) means that the management of ...

A study of the molecular pathology of ductal carcinoma in situ and invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The biological validity of the histopathological classification of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast was evaluated in this study by correlating the three histopathological grades of DCIS to immunohistochemical expression of Ki67, p53, cerbB-2,

Relevancia de la presencia de carcinoma ductal in situ en el carcinoma ductal infiltrante = Relevance of ductal carcinoma in situ associated to invasive ductal carcinoma

open access: yes, 2019
64 p.El cáncer de mama es una patología muy frecuente, es por ello que nuestro objetivo con este trabajo es analizar aspectos que puedan ser relevantes sobre el cáncer de mama y valorar si existen factores de riesgo o protectores no conocidos como es la ...

Type I interferons modulate autophagy to shape gemcitabine response in pancreatic cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Type I interferons differentially modulate autophagy and the response of pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine. IFNα2b stimulates autophagic flux and protects cells from gemcitabine‐induced cell death, contributing to chemoresistance. In contrast, IFNβ1a inhibits autophagosome formation and enhances gemcitabine‐induced cell death, resulting in ...

The Roles of Frequently Mutated Genes of Pancreatic Cancer in Regulation of Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesTechnology in Cancer Research & Treatment, 2020
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma has extremely high malignancy and patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma have dismal prognosis. The failure of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma treatment is largely due to the tumor microenvironment, which is ...

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...
