A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Due process

BMJ, 2007
Abstract There is no Treaty provision conferring the right to a hearing or, indeed, to most of the rights encompassed by what are now regarded as EC administrative law requirements of due process. However, such rights have become well established under the general rubric of ‘the rights of the defence’. In general terms, the EC expression

Who Is "Due" Process?

Public Administration Review, 1982
A major concern that administrators of human services programs face is that of reconciling the needs of setting and maintaining standards with the needs of the clients for receiving services. When services are provided through a contract with a qualified provider, the recipients of the services are considered to be "indirect" beneficiaries of the ...
