Dufour and Soret Effects on Square Porous Annulus [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2014
A study on heat and mass transfer behaviour on porous medium embedded in a square annulus is conducted. The inner surface wall is considered to have a cool temperature T c while the outer surface is exposed to a hot temperature T h .

Influence of the Dufour effect on convection in binary gas mixtures [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1995
Linear and nonlinear properties of convection in binary fluid layers heated from below are investigated, in particular for gas parameters. A Galerkin approximation for realistic boundary conditions that describes stationary and oscillatory convection in ...

Thermal Diffusion Factor in Gas Mixture-Dufour Effect (I) [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 1991
The thermal diffusion factor, aT, for a binary gas mixture is calculated on the basis of nonequilibrium thermodynamics. A new formula for aT is derived and this factor is given for several paris of gases according to this formula.

Hydrothermal analysis of Non-Newtonian second grade fluid flow on radiative stretching cylinder with Soret and Dufour effects

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2019
The present paper examines the analytical approach of a second grade fluid flow along a stretching cylinder and the Soret and Dufour effects is also investigated on the problem. The flow is subjected to thermal radiation. A system of non-linear equations

Convective MHD Flow of a Rotating Fluid Past through a Moving Isothermal Plate under Diffusion-Thermo and Radiation Absorption [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Heat and Mass Transfer Research, 2023
The current article studies the impact of radiation absorption and diffusion thermo effect or the Dufour effect on a convective MHD flow of a rotating fluid past through a moving vertical isothermal plate under thermal radiation, chemical reaction, and ...

Dufour Effect in Gases [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1975
Abstract A study of the Dufour effect was made for five different gas mixtures: H2–N2, H2–O2, H2–N2O, He–N2O and He–O2. Measurements were made at 25 °C under 700 Torr. The values of the thermal diffusion factor were calculated for the above mixtures from the experimental data on the basis of the thermodynamics of irreversible processes.

A Numerical Implementation of the Soret Effect in Drying Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Drying of porous media is strictly governed by heat and mass transfer. However, contrary to the definition that drying is simultaneous transport mechanisms of heat and mass, most past and current models either account for temperature or concentration ...

MHD free convection-radiation interaction in a porous medium - part I : numerical investigation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A numerical investigation of two dimensional steady magnetohydrodynamics heat and mass transfer by laminar free convection from a radiative horizontal circular cylinder in a non-Darcy porous medium is presented by taking into account the Soret/Dufour ...

Effects of Dufour and thermal diffusion on unsteady MHD free convection and mass transfer flow through an infinite vertical permeable sheet

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2021
In this paper, the effects of Dufour and thermal diffusion and on unsteady MHD (magnetohydrodynamic) free convection and mass transfer flow through an infinite vertical permeable sheet have been investigated numerically.

Diffusion Thermoeffect in Gases (The Dufour Effect) [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1979
Abstract A study of the Dufour effect was made for four different gas mixtures: SF6–N2O, SF6–N2, SF6–CO2, and He–CO2. Measurements were made at 300 K under 700 Torr. The values of the thermal diffusion factor were calculated for the above mixtures from experimental data on the basis of the thermodynamics of irreversible processes.
