Thermal Diffusion Factor in Gas Mixture-Dufour Effect (I) [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 1991
The thermal diffusion factor, aT, for a binary gas mixture is calculated on the basis of nonequilibrium thermodynamics. A new formula for aT is derived and this factor is given for several paris of gases according to this formula.

Numerical Investigation on the Heat and Mass Transfer in Microchannel with Discrete Heat Sources Considering the Soret and Dufour Effects

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
Heat-transfer enhancement in microchannel heat sinks (MCHS) has been a hot topic in the last decade. However, most published works did not focus on the heat sources that are discrete, as in most microelectronic devices, and the enhancement of heat and ...

Soret and Dufour Effects on Natural Convection Flow Past a Vertical Surface in a Porous Medium with Variable Viscosity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
The heat and mass transfer characteristics of natural convection about a vertical surface embedded in a saturated porous medium subject to variable viscosity are numerically analyzed, by taking into account the diffusion-thermo (Dufour) and thermal ...

Stability Analysis of Stagnation-Point Flow in a Nanofluid over a Stretching/Shrinking Sheet with Second-Order Slip, Soret and Dufour Effects: A Revised Model [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
The mathematical model of the two-dimensional steady stagnation-point flow over a stretching or shrinking sheet of nanofluid in the presence of the Soret and Dufour effects and of second-order slip at the boundary was considered in this paper.

Dufour Effect with Ramped Wall Temperature and Specie Concentration on Natural Convection Flow Through A Channel

open access: yesPhysics, 2019
In this paper, we have obtained an analytical solution to the problem of unsteady free convection and mass transfer flow of an incompressible fluid through a vertical channel in the presence of Dufour effect (or diffusion thermo). The bounding plates are

Numerical analysis for endoscope and Soret and Dufour effects on peristalsis of Prandtl fluid

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
This article addresses the effect of endoscope on peristaltic flow of Prandtl fluid in an inclined tube. Simultaneous study of heat and mass transfer is performed by considering thermal-diffusion and diffusion-thermo effects.

Dufour Effect in Gases [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1975
Abstract A study of the Dufour effect was made for five different gas mixtures: H2–N2, H2–O2, H2–N2O, He–N2O and He–O2. Measurements were made at 25 °C under 700 Torr. The values of the thermal diffusion factor were calculated for the above mixtures from the experimental data on the basis of the thermodynamics of irreversible processes.
