Unions as Digital Trailblazers: How Digitalizing Voting Practices (Re)shape Membership and Participation

open access: yesNew Technology, Work and Employment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Unions are increasingly adopting digital tools, yet research often portrays them as lagging in the digital age. This article challenges that view by examining union agency in the digitalisation of voting. Drawing on qualitative interviews with union officials, digital consultants collaborating on developing digital union voting and 12 years of

The Heterogeneous Regional Employment Effects of Environmental Policies

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper examines the effects of Environmental Policies—measured by the OECD Environmental Policy Stringency Index (EPS)—on employment in 349 regions across 26 countries from 1990 to 2020. We find that more stringent EPS have short‐term negative effects on regional employment, which disappear in the medium term.

Computational analysis of Hall current, radiation absorption and diffusion thermo effects on unsteady MHD rotating flow of Casson fluid through porous media with chemical reaction

open access: yesPhysics Open
This study investigates the unsteady free-convective flow of an electrically conducting Casson fluid through a porous medium under the combined influences of Hall current, radiation absorption, Dufour effect, thermal radiation, Joule heating, viscous ...

Porphyromonas gingivalis GroEL accelerates abdominal aortic aneurysm formation by matrix metalloproteinase‐2 SUMOylation in vascular smooth muscle cells: A novel finding for the activation of MMP‐2

open access: yesMolecular Oral Microbiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Infection is a known cause of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), and matrix metalloproteases‐2 (MMP‐2) secreted by vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs) plays a key role in the structural disruption of the middle layer of the arteries during AAA progression.

New trajectories in the production of environmental knowledge about river restoration: contrasting scientific practices in Rhône River research

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Restoration ecology relies on interactions between scientists and managers, yet these interactions are shaped by broader academic, social, and political contexts that influence how scientific knowledge is produced and mobilized. Objective This article aims to examine how scientific knowledge is produced within a long‐term river ...

“Is This Edible Anyway?” The Impact of Culture on the Evolution (and Devolution) of Mushroom Knowledge

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Mushrooms are a ubiquitous and essential component in our biological environment and have been of interest to humans around the globe for millennia. Knowledge about mushrooms represents a prime example of cumulative culture, one of the key processes in human evolution.

Clinical descriptive and long‐term outcome of melanocytic uveal lesions in young dogs: 40 cases (45 eyes) including 13 cases of sector iridectomy

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 371-385, March 2025.
Abstract Purpose To describe the clinical features surgical technique, early and long‐term outcome with or without surgery, and histopathological findings of melanocytic anterior uveal lesions in young dogs. Methods Medical records of dogs at a guide dog facility removed from training due to a pigmented iris lesion were reviewed from 2014 to 2021 ...

Thermal magnetization transport analysis featuring darcian and multi-physical rheological characteristics in chemically reactive dual convective tangent-hyperbolic nanomaterial confined by vertical cone

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The Soret-Dufour characteristics elaborate the phenomena of cross-diffusion where solutal gradients yield heat flux (Dufour aspect) and thermal gradients engender mass flux (Soret effect).
