Study on the binding of chiral drug duloxetine hydrochloride to human serum albumin☆

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2010
Duloxetine holds a special promise as an antidepressant, and its effect depends on its binding to human serum albumin (HSA). For this reason, the binding mechanism of duloxetine with HSA was investigated. The specific binding site in HSA was identified and binding constants were determined.

A validated UV spectrophotometric method for determination of duloxetine hydrochloride.

Die Pharmazie, 2007
A simple, sensitive and accurate UV spectrophotometric method was developed for the assay of duloxetine hydrochloride in raw material and capsules. Validation of the method yielded good results concerning range, linearity, precision and accuracy. The absorbance was measured at 290 nm for duloxetine capsule solution.

Optimization and in vivo evaluation of duloxetine hydrochloride buccoadhesive lyophilized tablets

Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, 2019
Abstract Duloxetine hydrochloride (DH) is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSNRI) indicated for the treatment of depression. Duloxetine suffers from reduced oral bioavailability (≈50%) due to hepatic metabolism. DH buccoadhesive lyophilized tablets were prepared adopting the solvent casting/freeze drying method using HPMC, chitosan and ...

Validation of a stability-indicating HPTLC method for analysis of duloxetine hydrochloride in capsule dosage form. Separation and analysis of duloxetine hydrochloride and olanzapine in a synthetic mixture

Journal of Planar Chromatography – Modern TLC, 2009
A simple, selective, precise, and stability-indicating high-performance thin-layer chromatographic (HPTLC) method has been established and validated for analysis of duloxetine hydrochloride in formulations. The compound was resolved on aluminum-backed silica gel 60 F254 plates with toluene-methanol-10% (v/v) ammonia 3:1.3:0.05 (v/v) as mobile phase ...

Duloxetine Hydrochloride (Cymbalta)

2015
“To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.” Nietzsche’s words ring true to many. Depression is romanticized at times due to its association with poets and artists, but in reality depression, especially major depressive disorder (MDD), can be debilitating. There are two types of depression: MDD and bipolar, also known as

Duloxetine hydrochloride: A new dual-acting medication for the treatment of major depressive disorder

Clinical Therapeutics, 2005
Duloxetine hydrochloride has recently been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). Duloxetine is a potent inhibitor of serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake, with weak effects on dopamine reuptake. This article reviews the literature on duloxetine with regard to its pharmacodynamics ...

Treatment of stress urinary incontinence with duloxetine hydrochloride.

Reviews in urology, 2011
Currently, there are no approved medications for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in the United States. The effectiveness of duloxetine in the treatment of SUI is linked to its inhibition of presynaptic neuronal reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine in the central nervous system, resulting in elevated levels of serotonin and ...
