Global existence of weak solutions to the FENE dumbbell model of polymeric flows
Inventiones Mathematicae, 2010Systems coupling fluids and polymers are of great interest in many branches of sciences. One of the most classical models to describe them is the FENE (Finite Extensible Nonlinear Elastic) dumbbell model.

FENE Dumbbell Model and Its Several Linear and Nonlinear Closure Approximations
Multiscale Modeling & Simulation, 2005Summary: We present some analytical and numerical studies on the finite extendible nonlinear elasticity (FENE) model of polymeric fluids and its several moment-closure approximations. The well-posedness of the FENE model is established under the influence of a steady flow field.

Dumbbell dipole model and its application in UXO discrimination
SPIE Proceedings, 2006Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) is one of the most promising techniques for UXO discrimination. Target discrimination is usually formulated as an inverse problem typically requiring fast forward models for efficiency. The most successful and widely applied EMI forward model is the simple dipole model, which works well for simple objects when the ...

Modelling an equivalent structure of dumbbell DGS for microstrip filters
2016 International Conference on Computing Communication Control and automation (ICCUBEA), 2016Microstrip filters play an important role in wireless or mobile communication systems. In this paper, the method is proposed to model an equivalent structure of DGS in microstrip filters. Once the equation for generating equivalent structure of DGS unit has been modeled, there is no need of calculation of intermediate frequency for deriving an ...

Consistently averaged hydrodynamic interaction for dumbbell models in elongational flow
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1986We apply the recently proposed consistent averaging approximation for the hydrodynamic interaction to elongational flow. This flow situation can be treated to a great extent analytically for Rouse and FENE-P dumbbells. In both cases expansions for the elongational viscosity are presented for low and high elongational rates.

Diffusion in concentrated polymer solutions: Encapsulated FENE dumbbell model results
Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 1987AbstractStructure‐property relations for the encapsulated FENE dumbbell correlate well with experimental observations for concentrated polymer solutions. Relying on rigorous kinetic theory results, we derive an expression for the polymeric mass flux relative to the mass‐average velocity (diffusive flux).
