Physiological responses of Dunaliella salina and Dunaliella tertiolecta to copper toxicity
Biomolecular Engineering, 2005Species differences in heavy metal tolerance were investigated by comparing the responses of Dunaliella tertiolecta and Dunaliella salina to elevated concentrations of CuCl2. Although both species showed reduced cell number ml(-1) of algal culture, D. salina was more affected by increase in CuCl2. This reflects higher sensitivity of D.

Antifouling potential of the marine microalga Dunaliella salina
World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2014Marine organisms have usually been viewed as sources of environmentally friendly compounds with antifouling activity. We performed a series of operations to investigate the antifouling potential of the marine microalga Dunaliella salina. For the ethyl acetate crude extract, the antialgal activity was significant, and the EC50 value against Skeletonema ...

L'infrasTruttura diDunaliella Salina
Giornale botanico italiano, 1964Abstract The ultrastructure of Dunaliella salina. — The ultrastructure of Dunaliella salina is described. Its structural organisation is rather similar to that previously reported for other Volvocales. The lack of a cellulosic wall is confirmed; the protoplast is bounded only by the monolayered plasma membrane which covers also the flagella.

Lipid profile of the halophilic alga, Dunaliella salina
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1980Abstract The lipid composition comprised more than 50% of the cellular organic material. Greater than 30% of the total lipid composition consisted of hydrocarbons. The aliphatic hydrocarbons consisted of C-17 and C-19 saturated and unsaturated ones, some of them with an internal methyl branch.

An Application of Dunaliella Salina Algae: Biodiesel
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Biodiesel has been receiving increasing attention as a potential sustainable fuel. It is used for diesel engines and is becoming well-known as an environmentally friendly fuel due to its non-toxic and biodegradable characteristics. As biodiesel production, Dunaliella salina algae could be an alternative raw material.

Metabolism of Galactolipids in Dunaliella Salina
1987In spite of a relatively concerted effort recently directed to the study of plant lipid metabolism, many important and interesting questions remain unanswered. For a variety of reasons, plants often seem more intransigent than animals in yielding up their secrets. Our laboratory has initiated a study of membrane lipid synthesis and turnover in a simple
