Vascular responses of dura mater [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 1989
The goal of this study was to examine vascular responses of the dura mater. Microspheres were used to measure blood flow to the dura and brain in anesthetized dogs. Under control conditions, blood flow to the dura was 38 +/- 3 (SE) ml.min-1.100 g-1.

Morpho-mechanical mapping of human dura mater microstructure [PDF]

open access: yesActa Biomaterialia, 2023
8696The human dura mater is known to impact vastly traumatic brain injury mechanopathology. In spite of this involvement, dura mater is typically neglected in computational and physical human head models.

Dura mater is a potential source of Aβ seeds [PDF]

open access: yesActa Neuropathologica, 2016
Deposition of amyloid- (A) in the brain parenchyma and vessels is one of the hallmarks of Alzheimer disease (AD). Recent observations of A deposition in iatrogenic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (iCJD) after dural grafting or treatment with pituitary extracts

Arteriovenous malformations of the dura mater

Surgical Neurology, 1987
The presentation, angiographic findings, and treatment of eight dural arteriovenous malformations is reviewed. The majority presented as intracranial hemorrhage, one of which was an intracerebral hemorrhage, and an aneurysm was found in conjunction with two of the eight.
