A Quality‐Driven Framework for Local Fatigue‐Strength Assessment of Wind–Energy Structures Considering Size Effects

open access: yesWind Energy
Reliability, safety, and the lifetime of wind energy systems are mainly driven by the quality of each single component. Especially, large structures made of cast material or welded structures, such as the nacelle, the machine carrier, or the tower, are ...

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients With Osteosarcoma: Local Control Outcomes With Dosimetric Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

Evaluation of Fly Ash Concrete Durability Containing Class II Durability Aggregates, July 1986 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Fly ash was used in this evaluation study to replace 15% of the cement in Class C-3 concrete paving mixes. One Class "c" ash from Iowa approved sources was examined in each mix.

Effect of Fly Ash as Cement Replacement on Chloride Diffusion, Chloride Binding Capacity, and Micro-Properties of Concrete in a Water Soaking Environment

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper experimentally studies the effects of fly ash on the diffusion, bonding, and micro-properties of chloride penetration in concrete in a water soaking environment based on the natural diffusion law.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Experimental and numerical analyses of stiffness and fatigue properties of a spring element for mounts with tunable stiffness made of C85S+QT sheet steel

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity
Mounting stiffness has an important impact on a system’s structural dynamics and also on the durability of many structures. Mounts with tunable stiffness allow adapting a system’s structural dynamic behavior.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.
