Multilayered Digital Microfluidic Chip for Cell‐Based Assays

Advanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A multilayered digital microfluidic (mDMF) chip architecture is introduced to improve throughput and robustness in cell‐based assays. By multilayering electrode components and dielectric layers on glass, this design significantly reduces actuation voltage, maintains reliability, and enables expansion of the operational area with minimum current leakage.

Femtosecond‐Laser Mould Texturing Enables Tunable Biointerfaces in COC Microfluidics

Advanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Femtosecond‐laser texturing of injection‐mould inserts enables scalable engineering of biointerfaces in cyclic olefin copolymer microfluidics. Replicated micro‐ and nano‐topographies modulate surface roughness and wettability, leading to texture‐dependent protein adsorption and cell adhesion without chemical post‐processing.

This integrated article thesis includes three components: an extended artist’s statement, documentation of my artwork, and an interview with artist Aganetha Dyck. Through these three formats, this document explores the ways in which art can break down human vs. nonhuman binaries, thereby highlighting the agency of nonhuman materials.
