Review of a dust explosion modeling

open access: yes, 2013
A single particle model developed for dust explosion is here reviewed. The model describes the behaviour of a reacting particle which undergoes different steps during reaction: heating, devolatilization and homogeneous combustion.

Organoid Brain‐Machine‐Interface Devices for Central Nervous System Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We envision organoid brain‐machine‐interface (Organoid‐BMI) devices as new biohybrid bidirectional communication pathways to connect the human CNS and the external world for personalized CNS repair and regeneration. ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) repair and regeneration suffer from tremendous clinical challenges due to current limitations in ...

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

EXPLOSIBILITY OF MICRON- AND NANO-SIZE TITANIUM POWDERS

open access: yes, 2013
The current research is aimed at investigating the explosion behaviour of hazardous materials in relation to particle size. The materials of study are titanium powders having size distributions in both the micron- and nano-size ranges with nominal size

Microblasting Wound Dressings Mechanically Disrupt Polymicrobial Biofilms to Enhance Healing in Treatment‐Resistant Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

Explosion Characteristics and Flame Propagation Behavior of Mixed Dust Cloud of Coal Dust and Oil Shale Dust

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Coal and oil shale are often mined and utilized together, and mixed dust is easily formed in these processes. In order to ensure safe production in these processes, the explosion characteristics of mixed dust were studied. Using a Godbert-Greenwold (G-G)

A Communication Framework for Improving Awareness of Combustible Dust Hazards

open access: yes, 2015
The hazards associated with combustible dusts are not universally well known, particularly when compared to a somewhat similar hazard, flammable gas. The primary resources currently used in communication about dust explosions are journal publications and

Research on Explosion Characteristics of Sulfur Dust and Risk Control of the Explosion

open access: yes, 2014
As dust explosion is a major risk factor threating the safety of sulfur production, evaluating and controlling the hazards of sulfur dust produced in the wet process are very important.
