ANTLIA B: A FAINT DWARF GALAXY MEMBER OF THE NGC 3109 ASSOCIATION [PDF]
We report the discovery of Antlia B, a faint dwarf galaxy at a projected distance of ∼72 kpc from NGC 3109 ( M V ∼ − 15 mag ?> ), the primary galaxy of the NGC 3109 dwarf association at the edge of the Local Group.

Mapping Corporate Investments Between China and Europe in an Era of Geoeconomic Competition
Abstract The consolidation of geoeconomic competition puts core aspects of global economic interdependence, such as the mutual China‐EU investment relationship, under increased pressure. Headlines about ‘derisking’, ‘decoupling’ or ‘deglobalization’ dominate current debates but tend to be overly simplistic.

Quantifying Bursty Star Formation in Dwarf Galaxies
Dwarf galaxy star formation histories are theoretically expected to be bursty, potentially leaving distinct imprints on their chemical evolution. We propose that episodic starbursts with quiescent periods longer than ~100 Myr should lead to discontinuous

A wealth of observations have long suggested that the vast majority of isolated classical dwarf galaxies ( M _* = 10 ^7 –10 ^9 M _⊙ ) are currently star forming.

CHARTING UNEXPLORED DWARF GALAXY TERRITORY WITH RR LYRAE [PDF]
Observational biases against finding Milky Way (MW) dwarf galaxies at low Galactic latitudes (b ≲ ?> 20°) and at low surface brightnesses ( &mgr; V,0 ≳ ?> 29 mag arcsec − 2 ?> ) currently limit our understanding of the faintest limits of the galaxy ...

GCN5‐related histone acetyltransferase HOOKLESS2 regulates fungal resistance and growth in tomato
Summary The functions of histone acetyltransferases (HATs) in the genetic control of crop traits and the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. We studied the function of tomato HOOKLESS2 (SlHLS2), a member of the GCN5 family of HATs, through genetic, molecular and genomic approaches. Tomato hls2 mutants generated through CRISPR‐cas9 gene editing

Searching for nearby diffuse dwarf galaxies in the COSMOS field
It remains challenging to systematically survey nearby diffuse dwarf galaxies and address the formation mechanism of this population distinguishing from regular ones.

Tidal Disruption of Milky Way Satellites with Shallow Dark Matter Density Profiles
Dwarf galaxies of the Local Group provide unique possibilities to test current theories of structure formation. Their number and properties have put the broadly accepted cold dark matter model into question, posing a few problems. These problems now seem

Some of the extremely metal-poor Blue Compact Dwarf galaxies (XBCDs) in the nearby universe form galaxy pairs with remarkably similar properties. This fact points to an intriguing degree of synchronicity in the formation history of these binary dwarf ...
