Are Disks of Satellites Comprised of Tidal Dwarf Galaxies?
It was found that satellites of nearby galaxies can form flattened co-rotating structures called disks of satellites or planes of satellites. Their existence is not expected by the current galaxy formation simulations in the standard dark matter-based ...

On the local hypercenter of a group [PDF]
We introduce a local hypercenter of an arbitrary group and study its basic properties. With this concept, it turns out that classical theorems of Baer, Mal’cev and McLain on locally nilpotent groups can be obtained as special cases of statements which are valid in any group.

A Study of the Properties and Dynamics of the Disk of Satellites in a Milky-Way-like Galaxy System
The dynamics of the satellite systems of Milky-Way-like galaxies offer a useful means by which to study the galaxy formation process in the cosmological context. It has been suggested that the currently observed anisotropic distribution of the satellites

The C/M Ratio of AGB Stars in the Local Group Galaxies
The number ratio of carbon-rich to oxygen-rich asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars (the so-called C/M ratio) is closely related to the evolution environment of the host galaxy.

Entourages, Covers and Localic Groups [PDF]
The paper discusses two approaches to uniformities on locales: via entourages and via covers. It is proved that the two resulting categories are concretely isomorphic. Then entourage and cover uniformities, induced by the group structure, on localic groups are examined in detail.
