SAO-6m Telescope Spectroscopic Observations of Globular Clusters in Nearby Galaxies [PDF]
We present the results of medium-resolution spectroscopy of 28 globular clusters (GCs) in six nearby galaxies of different luminosities and morphological types, situated in: M33 (15 objects), M31 (3), IC10 (4), UGCA86 (4), HolmbergIX (1), and DDO71 (1 ...

We present an imaging survey of the Spitzer I star-forming region in NGC 6822 conducted with the NIRCam and MIRI instruments on board JWST. Located at a distance of 490 kpc, NGC 6822 is the nearest non-interacting low-metallicity (∼0.2 Z _⊙ ) dwarf ...

The Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array Local Group L-Band Survey (LGLBS)
We present the Local Group L -Band Survey, a Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) survey producing the highest-quality 21 cm and 1–2 GHz radio continuum images to date, for the six VLA-accessible, star-forming, Local Group galaxies. Leveraging the VLA’s

BVR photometry of the resolved dwarf galaxy Ho IX
We present BVR CCD photometry down to limiting magnitude B=23.5 mag for 232 starlike objects and 11 diffuse objects in a 5.4' x 5.4' field of Ho IX. The galaxy is a gas-rich irregular dwarf galaxy possibly very close to M 81, which makes it especially ...

Dwarf Spheroidal Satellite Formation in a Reionized Local Group [PDF]
Dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxies have emerged a powerful probe of small-scale dark matter clustering and of cosmic reionization. They exhibit structural and chemical continuity with dwarf irregular galaxies in the field and with spheroidal galaxies in

Spectral Energy Distributions for 258 Local Volume Galaxies
We present model spectral energy distribution (SED) fits to ultraviolet/optical/infrared observations for the 258 nearby galaxies in the Local Volume Legacy survey, a sample dominated by lower-luminosity dwarf irregular systems.

Measuring the relation between star formation and galactic winds is observationally difficult. In this work we make an indirect measurement of the mass-loading factor (the ratio between the mass outflow rate and star formation rate) in low-mass galaxies ...

Searches for Extremely Metal-poor Galaxies Using Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA–Selected Dwarf Galaxies
We present a study of nearby dwarf galaxies selected from the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA (ALFALFA) blind H i survey. A primary goal of the project was to utilize a nonstandard selection method with the hope of detecting previously unrecognized extremely ...

Radial variations of the SFHs of dwarf irregular galaxies [PDF]
AbstractThe LITTLE THINGS project† has compiled multi-wavelength data (including VLA hi-line emission maps, GALEX FUV/NUV imagery, UBV, narrow-band Hα, and Spitzer images) for a representative sample of nearby dwarf irregular (dIrr) galaxies. The broadband data are used to constrain the radial variations of the star formation (SF) rate (SFR) averaged ...

The chemical content of a sample of dwarf irregular galaxies [PDF]
We present abundances of neon, nitrogen and oxygen of some nearby dwarf irregular galaxies. The elemental abundances are retrieved from long-slit spectroscopy of H ii regions in the objects. The abundances are found to be sub-solar in all cases. For the dwarf irregular galaxy DDO 190 the abundances reported in this work are the rst ever published.
