The fundamental plane of dwarf irregular galaxies [PDF]
Aims. Near-IR photometry of dwarf irregular galaxies (dIs) has been acquired to expand the sample of objects suitable for investigating the fundamental plane (FP) discovered previously by us. Data for blue compact dwarfs (BCDs), dwarf ellipticals (dEs), and dwarf spheroidal galaxies (dSphs) are amalgamated to evaluate how closely these classes of ...

Abstract In this study, the properties, equilibrium, and stability of compact objects within the framework of teleparallel gravity with the generalized MIT bag model are investigated. By incorporating the modified field equations, the influence of the generalized bag constant on the structure and physical characteristics of quark stars and neutron ...

Infrared Properties of Star-forming Dwarf Galaxies. I. Dwarf Irregular Galaxies in the Local Volume [PDF]
A sample of 34 dwarf irregular galaxies in the Local Volume, most nearer than 5 Mpc, has been imaged in the near-infrared (NIR) in J and K_s at CFHT in Hawaii and OAN-SPM in Mexico. In CFHT images, stars brighter than M_Ks=-7.5 were resolved. In most cases, the resolved population represents less than 5% of the total NIR flux in K_s.

Plants can be exposed to ionising radiation not only in Space but also on Earth, due to specific technological applications or after nuclear disasters. The response of plants to ionising radiation depends on radiation quality/quantity and/or plant characteristics. In this paper, we analyse some growth traits, leaf anatomy, and ecophysiological features

OLD GLOBULAR CLUSTERS IN MAGELLANIC-TYPE DWARF IRREGULAR GALAXIES
We present a study of the old globular clusters (GC) using archival F606W and F814W HST/ACS images of 19 Magellanic-type dwarf Irregular (dIrr) galaxies found in nearby (2 - 8 Mpc) associations of only dwarf galaxies. All dIrrs have absolute magnitudes fainter than or equal to the SMC (Mv = -16.2 mag).

Mass‐Loss, Composition and Observational Signatures of Stellar Winds From X‐Ray Bursts
ABSTRACT X‐Ray bursts (XRBs) are powerful thermonuclear events on the surface of accreting neutron stars (NSs), which can synthesize intermediate‐mass elements. Although the high surface gravity prevents an explosive ejection, a small fraction of the envelope may be ejected by radiation‐driven winds.

Chemodynamical Simulations of Dwarf Galaxy Evolution
In this review I give a summary of the state of the art for what concerns the chemo‐dynamical numerical modelling of galaxies in general and of dwarf galaxies in particular. In particular, I focus my attention on (i) initial conditions, (ii) the equations to solve; (iii) the star formation process in galaxies, (iv) the initial mass function, (v) the ...
