Inhomogeneous chemical evolution of dwarf spheroidal galaxies
Astrophysics and Space Science, 2003Stellar abundance pattern of n-capture elements such as barium is used as a powerful tool to infer how the star formation proceeded in dwarf spheroidal (dSph) galaxies. It is found that the abundance correlation of barium with iron in stars belonging to dSph galaxies orbiting the Milky Way, i.e., Draco, Sextans, and Ursa Minor have a feature similar to

Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies: Dynamical Evolution
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1998We show the results of numerical simulations of dwarf spheroidal galaxies (DSphs), which allow to understand their evolution in the framework of no internal virial equilibrium. Under this hypothesis, we reproduce with a low dark matter (DM) model the high values of the virial M/L ratio measured observationally for these objects.

Searches for dwarf spheroidal galaxies
Astrophysics, 19751. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are encountered, it would seem, more often than previously assumed [9]. 2. The tendency for them to be concentrated around galaxies of high luminosities [8, 9] is not very pronounced. 3. The distribution of Sculptor type dwarfs in the space we studied is not uniform.

1992
The properties of dwarf spheroidals are reviewed with emphasis on the newly discovered Sextans system, as well as on the star formation histories, the dark matter content and the abundance — luminosity relation of these galaxies. The relation of dwarf spheroidals to other dwarf galaxies is also discussed.

Tidal Stripping of Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010We have constructed a series of models to investigate the influence of tidal forces on the formation and evolution of dwarf spheroidal galaxies. These Nbody/SPH models consist of a model for an isolated dwarf spheroidal galaxy which is placed on an orbit in a Milky‐Way sized—analytical—dark matter halo.

Dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the M81 group of galaxies
Astronomische Nachrichten, 2009AbstractWe study the properties of the dwarf galaxy population in the nearby interacting M81 group of galaxies. In particular, we are deriving the metallicity distribution functions, the ages and the star formation histories of these dwarf galaxies based on data from the Hubble Space Telescope's Advanced Camera for Surveys and the Sloan Digital Sky ...
