Efficient Interfacing of DWT and EBCOT in JPEG2000

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 2008
Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and embedded block coder (BC) are two main modules in JPEG2000 compression system. Data transfer between the DWT and BC modules presents challenges due to difference in data format generated by the DWT and data format required by the BC module.

DWT-DCT-SVD based watermarking

2008 3rd International Conference on Communication Systems Software and Middleware and Workshops (COMSWARE '08), 2008
Some works are reported in the frequency domain watermarking using Single Value Decomposition (SVD). The two most commonly used methods are based on DCT-SVD and DWT-SVD. The commonly present disadvantages in traditional watermarking techniques such as inability to withstand attacks are absent in SVD based algorithms.

On image compression: a DWT-DCT algorithm

Proceedings of the Sixth International Symposium on Signal Processing and its Applications (Cat.No.01EX467), 2002
We propose a hybrid transform that performs one-level wavelet decomposition of any image and follows it with a discrete cosine transform (DCT) in its lowpass sub-band. It shows a definite improvement over the DCT-based JPEG coder performance, in that it allows for a wider range of compression ratios (CR) over which the coder PSNR performance is good ...

Filter Banks and DWT

2013
The study of digital signal processing normally concentrates on the design, realization, and application of single-input, single-output digital filters. There are applications, as in the case of spectrum analyzer, where it is desired to separate a signal into a set of sub-band signals occupying, usually nonoverlapping, portions of the original ...

DWT-based stereoscopic image watermarking

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Watermarking already imposed itself as an effective and reliable solution for conventional multimedia content protection (image/video/audio/3D). By persistently (robustly) and imperceptibly (transparently) inserting some extra data into the original content, the illegitimate use of data can be detected without imposing any annoying constraint to a ...

Watermarking with the UPC and DWT

2010
Advancements in digital technologies offer new and easier methods in which consumers can purchase and enjoy creative content, for example, by downloading and viewing movies on a notebook computer. These advancements enable those who wish to profit from digital media that they did not author and do not own to illegally profit from the efforts of others.

A DWT-based image watermarking algorithm

IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2001. ICME 2001., 2001
In this paper, a new embedding strategy for DWT-based watermarking is proposed. Different from the existing watermarking schemes in which low frequency coefficients are explicitly excluded from watermark embedding, we claim that watermarks should be embedded in the low frequency subband firstly, and the remains should be embedded in high frequency ...

Image Sharpening by DWT-Based Hysteresis

2011
Improvement of edge details in an image is basically a process of extracting high frequency details from the image and then adding this information to the blurred image. In this paper we propose an image sharpening technique in which high frequency details are extracted using wavelet transforms and then added with the blurred image to enhance the edge ...

Uncalibrated stereo matching using DWT

Proceedings 15th International Conference on Pattern Recognition. ICPR-2000, 2002
This paper presents a hierarchical stereo matching strategy using the discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Both area- and feature-based methods are combined into a single process by taking advantage of the discrete wavelet decomposition. Image components extracted from the approximation, horizontal, and vertical channels of the decomposition are combined ...

DWT based Multimedia Compression

2021 2nd International Conference for Emerging Technology (INCET), 2021
Current multimedia compression methods utilize techniques which are computationally resource intensive. Despite using high resources, presence of noise content is significant. To limit the unnecessary components, developing a different method which consumes comparatively lesser resources is essential.
