New Chloroprene Rubber/Styrene–Butadiene Rubber (CR/SBR) Blends Cross-Linked with Tin(II) Oxide (SnO): Curing Characteristics, Swelling Studies, Mechanical Properties, and Flame Resistance

open access: yesMolecules
This study aimed to investigate the properties of tin(II) oxide (SnO) as an unconventional cross-linking agent for chloroprene (CR) and styrene–butadiene (SBR) rubbers compositions. The use of tin(II) oxide results from the need to reduce the use of zinc

Optofluidic Distributed Feedback Dye Lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We review our recent work on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS)-based optofluidic dye lasers using a guided wave distributed feedback (DFB) cavity. We show experimental results of single-mode operation, an integrated laser array, multiple color dye lasing ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Novel Boronate Probe Based on 3-Benzothiazol-2-yl-7-hydroxy-chromen-2-one for the Detection of Peroxynitrite and Hypochlorite

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Derivatives of coumarin, containing oxidant-sensitive boronate group, were recently developed for fluorescent detection of inflammatory oxidants. Here, we report the synthesis and the characterization of 3-(2-benzothiazolyl)-7-coumarin boronic acid ...

A multi-color fast-switching microfluidic droplet dye laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We describe a multi-color microfluidic dye laser operating in whispering gallery mode based on a train of alternating droplets containing solutions of different dyes; this laser is capable of switching the wavelength of its emission between 580 nm and ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

The Comparison Between Chemical and Natural Extraction In Textile Dyeing With Indigofera [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Indigo is categorized as a vat dyes, which is needs to pass a fermentation phase in the extraction process before it could be used as a textile dye due to its lack of fastener substances.

Degradation of AB25 dye in liquid medium by atmospheric pressure non-thermal plasma and plasma combination with photocatalyst TiO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this work, degradation of the anthraquinonic dye Acid Blue 25 by non-thermal plasma at atmospheric pressure with and without photocatalyst is investigated. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is used as a photocatalyst.
